Salako Psychiatry is a self-pay, out-of-network clinic. That’s intentional.
We choose not to contract with insurance companies because we believe your mental health care should be driven by clinical judgment, not insurance rules. By operating independently, we’re able to offer:
Unrushed, in-depth appointments
Personalized treatment plans tailored to your needs — not what insurance deems “medically necessary”
Full privacy — your records aren’t shared with third-party payers unless you choose to file a claim
Prompt communication and flexible scheduling
Direct access to care without the delays of prior authorizations or denials
You have the freedom to work with the provider that’s right for you. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to submit for reimbursement — we’re happy to help guide you through that process.
Meet the Team
Our clinic is staffed by a dedicated duo. Both of us are passionate about providing personalized care to each of our patients. It’s our goal to foster a supportive environment where patients can feel heard, understood, and empowered on their journey to mental well-being.

Board-Certified Psychiatrist & Founder
Hello! Thank you for stopping by and learning more about the services offered at Salako Psychiatry.
My first and only priority from the moment you walk through the door is YOU. I wholeheartedly believe that medical and psychiatric care is a collaborative experience and I strive to ensure clear communication of treatment goals and plans so that we are always on the same page.
Seeing a psychiatrist for the first or hundredth time can be scary and intimidating. But after every appointment, I hope you leave feeling confident, emboldened, and proud of the decision you made to take care of your mental health.
It’s time to focus on you!

What makes Salako Psychiatry different?
-
Mental health conditions can vary widely from person to person in terms of symptoms and how they respond to treatment. It is never one size fits all. That’s why we offer 90 minute initial evaluations instead of the standard 60 minutes. In doing so, we have more than enough time to gather your medical, psychiatric, social, and developmental history. We will also have time to talk about your more salient concerns, create a treatment plan, and answer any lingering questions you may have.
Every patient is unique with distinct needs and experiences, so it is very important that we create a tailored treatment plan that is uniquely suited to you.

Medications are a big part of this practice! And we’re so happy to provide education, explain exactly how they work, what they do, and any potential side effects. But medications are not part of every patient’s treatment plan - and that’s okay, too!
Our services encompass medication management, therapy, lifestyle adjustments and recommendations, and addressing social, psychological, and environmental factors that may be playing a role in your mood and mental health. Ultimately, our goal is to help you achieve and maintain your mental wellbeing.

Our goal is to continually foster a collaborative approach to your mental health care treatment. That’s why our standard 30 minute follow up appointments are considered medication management and therapy appointments.
At every 30 minute follow up appointment, Dr. Salako will have time to discuss your symptoms, your medications, your life stressors, and problem solve best next steps with you.
