If you do not need a controlled substance prescription, you have the option to choose between a virtual or in-person initial evaluation based on your preference.

Appointments

  • At your 90 minute intake appointment, Dr. Salako will spend time gathering information about you including your history, your past medical and psychiatric treatments, as well as your current goals of treatment.

At the end of your appointment, you and Dr. Salako will talk about your diagnosis and treatment recommendations which may include medication management, therapy, or both.

The initial visit is a consultation to determine if the clinic is a good fit for your needs, and if you would benefit from continuing treatment with Dr. Salako. The initial consultation is not a guarantee of continued treatment.

  • Dr. Salako may suggest medications to treat your symptoms. The decision to start medications is a collaborative one. It is important that you understand the risks, benefits, side effects, and expectations of starting a new medication. At each appointment, Dr. Salako will assess the need to continue any psychiatric medication you are currently taking, as well as the need to make any changes (including starting or stopping medications).

Communication is key when taking prescribed medications. Please let Dr. Salako of any changes to your medication regimen and if you are experiencing any side effects.

  • AT THIS TIME, WE HAVE A WAITLIST FOR WEEKLY PSYCHOTHERAPY. PLEASE CALL TO BE ADDED TO THE WAITLIST.

If you have a PPO policy, you may qualify for reimbursement -

Dr. Salako is not in network with any commercial insurance. We are considered an “out of network” provider.

Most PPO plans include out of network benefits, which means your appointment may be covered in full/part by your health insurance. Payment is still required at the time of service, but you may be eligible for reimbursement for part (or all) of that fee.

To set you up for success and make the process less stressful, Dr. Salako has partnered with Reimbursify so we can check your benefits, eligibility, and reimbursement rates BEFORE your appointment! We will also help file claims on your behalf at no additional charge or cost to you.
